Kandarappam

 



Channa Dal :
Chana dal or Bengal gram dal is one of the richest vegan source of dietary proteins. It is also rich in trace minerals like copper, manganese etc. Having this dal helps keep diabetes at bay.

Urad Dal :
This dal is one of the richest sources of proteins and Vitamin B.

 Thoor Dal :
This dal has immense amounts of complex dietary fibres that helps to regularise bowel movements.


Ingredients
Raw rice-1 cup
Idly rice -1 cup
Urad dhal- 1/4 cup
Green gram dhal-1 table spoon
Thoor dhal-1 table spoon
Channa Dhal-1 table spoon
Jaggery -1 ½ cup
Grated coconut-(1/2 coconut)
Cardamom  -6


Procedure
Soak  Raw rice,Idly rice,Urad dhal,Green gram dhal,Thoor dhal and Channa Dhal for 1 hour. Grind it in the grinder  for 10 minutes. Now add the grated coconut and grind to a smooth paste. Finally add the powdered jaggery and the powdered cardamom and grind till the jaggery gets mixed well with the batter.

The batter should be in the consistency of dosa batter. Keep the kadai in the stove .Pour the required amount of oil. Once the oil gets heated, keep the flame in sim and using a small spatula, slowly pour 1 spatulla of batter into the oil and wait for a second when the appam raises slowly pour the heated oil on top of the appam 2 or 3 times with the help of a spoon. Then turn the side, wait for a minute and remove from the kadai.It will not take much time to cook.
